PRO for the Film Producers Association Of Ghana(Fipag),Mr Mawuli Ekpe aka Abro has reacted to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) claims of completing the newly Kumasi Theatre.
According to him (Abro) on Fox 97.9fm entertainment ,hosted by Danny Boyy in Kumasi,
the claim by H.E Dr Bawumia that the Kumasi Theatre is completed, is completely false, lies and should be treated as one of the political gimmicks.
I stand to be corrected on this Kumasi “Theater” claims by the Akufo-Addo led government!
I am scandalized about this whole thing of the Tourism Minister and Akufo-Addo’s government claiming a Theater has been built in Kumasi as promised in their Manifesto.
In fact, the said facility has not been completed or built in Kumasi and will very happy happy if Dr Bawumia could show the right location of the Theater in Kumasi or even Ashanti region.
Unless the NPP government have built another theatre in Kumasi that I have not seen yet. So I am asking the government to come clear and give us an explanation to the new theatre they have built as read in the NPP manifesto by the vice president, Dr Bawumia.
This is what both politicians have been doing to the creative arts industry which to him is very bad.
The world is growing and we in the creative arts industry knows the best for us, he (Abro) said.
I will stand everywhere in the world and call the Vice president (Dr Bawumia) a big liayer because it’s hard time politicians take the industry serious and stop playing with our minds and monies
“I don’t know whether they were referring to the Creative Arts School, which the construction is on slowly going on at Kwadaso; we don’t know if it is that project that they’re referring to. But as of now, we don’t know where that theatre is being built and we’ll wish that the Vice President will come out and show us where the project is so that we can all go out and see…I don’t know if it’s a new project they intend doing, that one we’ll say hallelujah. I don’t know whether Vice President is referring to Prempeh Assembly hall or Apatakese ase.
Since am the National PRO for the film Producers Association of Ghana, FIPAG, I will always speak the truth because we deserve better from the Government of the day.
