The argument about whether it’s right for secular artistes to do gospel songs has been one that always comes up during industry conversations.
It however seems like that argument has finally been put to rest by gospel musician Mary Anoah popularly known as Maadwoaah, who claims God can use anyone in his work.
In an interview with Alltunezgh, she explained more and even referred to Ras Kuuku’s ‘Me Mpaebo’ song.
“This is a prayer song and it is gospel. It is pure gospel. Someone can listen to this song and deliverance can take place. God can use anyone to do his work,” she said.
Maadwoaah said that it’s about time people stop judging others by their looks.
Many have chastised secular artistes for writing and performing gospel songs. Some even raised the argument that these songs written by secular artistes should not even be considered in the gospel categories in award schemes.
However, Maadwoaah believes that these so-called secular artistes who have the gift of churning out beautiful songs have every right to bring songs that lift the name of God.
“We condemn people by what they do and their appearance and that is the problem. No matter what happens, God can use any person to do his work,” she averred.
